Mylo Xyloto İngiliz alternatif rock grubu Coldplay'in EMI tarafından 24.10.2011'de tüm dünyada yayımlanan beşinci stüdyo albümü. Albümden önce ilk tekli "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" 3.06.2011' de yayımlandı, ikinci tekli "Paradise" ise Eylül 2011'de yayımlandı ve "Charlie Brown" üçüncü tekli olarak Ocak 2012'de yayımlandı.
Uluslararası alanda, albüm otuz ülkede birden bir numaraya oturdu. Bu albüm aynı zamanda grubun İngiltere'de bir numaraya çıktığı ilk hafta oturan beşinci albümü ve ilk hafta 208.000 adet sattı. Yine bu albüm grubun üçüncü Amerikan Billborad listesinde bir numara olan albümü ve ilk hafta 447.000 satışa ulaştı. 908.000 adet ile İngiltere'de 2011'in en çok satan rock albümü unvanını aldı.Begüne dek dünya çapında albüm 4.342.000 adet satmıştır. "Paradise" ve "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" ise üç dalda Granmmy ödülüne aday olmuştur.

Bir röpörtajda Chris Martin çıkacak albümün daha az tantanalı daha dingin bir çalışma olacağını belirtir ve belki ismi M ile başlar der. Daha sonraları albüm isminin bir manası olmadığı ve son iki yıldır bu adın akıllarında olduğunu söyler.
Chris Martin'e göre albüm mutlu sonla biten bir aşk hikayesi üzerine kuruludur. Albümde iki kahraman anlatılmaktadır kentte baskıcı bir ortamda yaşayan ve birgün karşı karşıya gelip birbirlerine aşık olurlar.

Mylo Xyloto is the fifth studio album by British alternative rock band Coldplay. It was released worldwide on 24 October 2011 by EMI. It was preceded by the lead single, "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall", on 3 June 2011. "Paradise" was released as the second single three months later in September. "Charlie Brown" was released in January of 2012.
Internationally, the album charted at number one in thirty countries. In the United Kingdom, Mylo Xyloto became their fifth album to debut at number one, selling 208,000 units in its first week. The album became the group's third to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 447,000 units in the first week. It was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011, selling 908,000 copies. To date, the album has sold 4,342,000 million copies worldwide. "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" received a total of three Grammy Award nominations.

About the album:
In one interview, Chris Martin predicted the style of the incoming album as being less dominated by fanfare, and featuring a more "stripped-down" sound. He also said that the title of the new album "will probably begin with an M."Chris later went on to explain the name, stating that it had no meaning and that they had had the title in mind for at least two years before deciding upon it.
According to Chris Martin, the album is "based on a love story with a happy ending," in which two protagonists living in an oppressive, dystopian, urban environment, meet one another through a gang and fall in love.
Lyrically, the album is inspired by "old school American graffiti" and "the White Rose Movement." Martin also said that the album was influenced by HBO TV series The Wire. Coldplay have stated on several occasions that they wanted the album to be "more acoustic" and "more intimate" than its predecessor, 2008's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.
However, while this was the initial approach, the tone of the record became more electronic in nature. Though songs recorded early in the process such as Us Against The World and U.F.O have maintained the "stripped" approach in the way they reflect the type of album Coldplay intended on recording initially, the overall sound and style of the record is electronic tinged with some of the world beat elements from the predecessor, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.
